How to Clean a Wave Brush with a Wooden Handle

Start by removing loose hair and surface buildup while the brush is dry. Keep a wooden handle and bristle base out of standing water, and never leave the brush soaking. For the AOSINA products shown here, we have not confirmed a model-specific wash, detergent or disinfectant procedure, so this guide focuses on conservative routine care.
Treat the bristles and wooden handle as different parts
The bristles collect hair and styling-product residue; the handle and the area where the bristles meet the brush body need protection from prolonged moisture. A cleaning method that sounds reasonable for loose bristles may not suit an assembled wooden brush.
AOSINA’s Hard Wave Brush uses nylon bristles. Do not assume all AOSINA brushes use boar bristles—or that nylon makes the entire brush waterproof. For other models, check the specific product information before choosing any material-dependent cleaning treatment.

Remove loose hair first
- Work over a towel or wastebasket with the brush dry.
- Gently lift out loose hair with your fingers or a clean, soft brush-cleaning tool.
- Work in small sections without pulling hard on the bristle bundles.
- Brush away loosened debris. Do not scrape the wood or dig sharp tools into the bristle base.
This is routine debris removal, not disinfection. If residue does not come away easily, do not keep scraping or add a strong cleaner to force it off.
Keep moisture controlled
Wipe dust or light residue from the handle with a soft, dry cloth. If a dry cloth is not enough, ask for the care instructions for your exact model before using a wet cleaning method. We are not prescribing soap concentration, water temperature or rinsing time without that confirmation.
Do not soak the brush, run it through a dishwasher, or hold the wooden body under a running tap. Avoid experimenting with alcohol, bleach, vinegar, oils or other treatments on the finish or bristle base. A general cleaning tip is not evidence that a product’s wood finish, adhesive or bristle mounting will tolerate it.
If the brush gets damp
- Blot accessible moisture gently with a clean, dry cloth.
- Place it in a dry, ventilated spot on a clean surface, with air able to circulate around the bristles and handle.
- Let it dry naturally; keep it away from radiators, hair dryers and prolonged direct sun.
- Do not put it in a closed drawer, pouch or container while it is still damp.
There is no single drying time that works for every room and brush. Check that it is dry before storing it; do not rely on a fixed number of hours.
Store it without crushing the bristles
Keep the brush in a dry place where the bristles are not pressed under other items. Remove loose hair regularly so buildup is easier to manage. If you notice a loose bristle base, cracking, a persistent odor or another change in condition, pause use and check the product guidance before trying a repair or stronger treatment.
If the bristles are past cleaning

Frequently asked questions
Can I soak only the bristles?
We do not recommend soaking the assembled brush. Water can reach the bristle base and wooden body even if you intended to wet only the bristle tips. Follow confirmed instructions for the exact model if a more thorough wash is needed.
Can I wash the nylon Hard brush like an all-plastic brush?
No. Nylon describes its bristles, not every part of the assembled brush. The handle, finish and bristle mounting still matter.
What if dry cleaning does not remove product buildup?
Ask AOSINA for model-specific care guidance before adding detergent or a disinfectant. Include the product name and what is stuck to it so the advice can address the actual brush.
